>>Docking to the HiNote Ultra II
________________________________
This HiNote Ultra II accessory supports "hot" docking and
undocking when the system is powered on using the network drivers
for the following network client software:
	Windows 95 NDIS3
	Windows for Workgroups NDIS3.

The ODI and NDIS2 network drivers do not support this feature.
When using these drivers, please use a "warm" (system is
suspended) or "cold" (system is powered off) docking scheme.

>>Ultra Dock and System Paralled Port Modes
___________________________________________
NOTE: The network adapter in the Ultra Dock functions correctly
when the parallel port mode is set for Standard, Bi-Directional,
and EPP. The network adapter will not function correctly when
the parallel port mode is set for ECP.

>>Printer Power During System Operation
_______________________________________
>>Certain printers may cause your system to behave in an unusual
manner if power is applied to them after the system has booted.
Printers attached to your Ultra Dock should be turned ON before
your HiNote Ultra II system is docked to, or powered on while
attached to Ultra Dock. Please avoid turning your printer off
until your HiNote Ultra II has been either removed from the Ultra
Dock or powered OFF.

>>Windows NT
____________
>>NDIS3 driver support for Windows NT 3.51 will be available in
the future.

1. Installation instructions for Windows 95 users who have not
run the Setup utility before attaching their Ultra Dock
----------------------------------------------------------------
Users who have started their computer with the Ultra Dock
attached but have not run the setup utility should follow these
instructions to install support for the network adapter.

    a) When starting your computer with the Ultra Dock attached,
Windows 95 will detect new hardware and prompt to restart
the computer to finish setting up your new computer.
       Answer No to this prompt.

    b) Windows 95 will run Hardware Detection. This process will
take several minutes. If this process has already been
       performed, this step is skipped.

    c) Hardware detection will finish and Windows 95 will
indicate that it has successfully completed setup for
your new computer configuration, called "Dock 1." (The
number can vary depending upon how many hardware profiles
have already been created.) Click OK to continue.

    d) Windows 95 will detect the "Digital Integrated Ethernet
Controller" and prompt for computer and work group names.
See your network administrator if you are not sure about
       what to enter here.

    e) Insert the Ultra Dock Network Drivers diskette and click
       OK.

    f) At the Copying Files prompt, enter A:\WIN95 and press
       Enter.

    g) When asked for Windows 95 Disk 2, click OK.

    h) At the Copying Files prompt, enter
       C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS and press enter.

    i) Windows 95 will then prompt to reboot for System Settings
Change. Remove the Ultra Dock Network Drivers diskette
       and click Yes.

    j) Windows 95 will now present one last prompt to restart
the computer for new display settings to take affect.
Click Yes to complete the system configuration.

    From within Windows Network Setup:

Integrated Ethernet Controller NDIS driver to be
configured and click on the "Drivers" button.

    b) From the "Network Drivers" Screen, click on the "Setup"
       button.

    c) From the "Digital Integrated Ethernet Controller NDIS"
setup screen, ensure that the IRQ is set to 11.

    d) From the "Digital Integrated Ethernet Controller NDIS"
       setup screen, click on "OK."

    e) Depending on whether or not you changed any of the
"Advanced Network-Adapter Settings," the Network Drivers
screen will have either a "Close" button or a "Cancel"
button. If you have made changes, click on "Close." If
you have not made any changes, click on "Cancel."

    f) From the "Network Setup" screen, click on "OK." If you
have made any changes to the configuration, Network Setup
will notify you that it has modified your SYSTEM.INI and
       PROTOCOL.INI files. Click on "OK."

    g) If you have made any modifications to your Network Setup,
Windows Setup will notify you that you must restart your
computer, so the changes will take effect.
